Briggs 5 Digit Type Numbers – Mike & Jen's Old Engines

The list on the following page indicates Engine Type Numbers and corresponding Model Numbers.
If a model number of which the first three numbers are 500., it indicates a Briggs & Stratton Engine sold to Sears Roebuck & Co. The number following the 500., is the type Number. Reference to this list will enable you to identify model letters.
Example:
Sears model 500.20054 indicates Type No. 20054 which is a model “Z” Engine.
